Job summary

Center for Justice Innovation invites a Clinician to join the Staten Island Supervised Release Program, delivering crisis intervention, intake assessments, and connection to community services. You’ll work in-person in Staten Island, NY, collaborating with judges, attorneys, and case managers to support compliance and court reporting.

The role requires a Master’s in social work or related field, 2 years of direct practice, and preference for LMSW; bilingual English-Spanish skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or a mental health field; 2 years of direct practice required; LMSW license preferred.
• Experience in pretrial, court-based, or criminal legal systems preferred.
• Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation required.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Experience with substance use or co-occurring disorders preferred.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed and strength-based approaches; Motivational Interviewing and CBT preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intakes and holistic assessments.
• Create voluntary service and resource plans addressing criminogenic needs.
• Make referrals to address immediate needs.
• Support engagement with referrals; provide crisis intervention when needed.
• Deliver evidence-based programs and connect participants to community services.
• Ensure accurate and timely court reporting on compliance.
• Maintain data entry and case documentation per program and court requirements.
• Coordinate with court staff, attorneys, and service providers.
• Attend trainings and participate in supervision; outreach to participants and collateral contacts.
