Job summary

The Children’s Home of Reading is seeking a Clinician for the ORR Program on a full-time basis. You will provide weekly individual counseling to assigned UACs, facilitate group sessions, and deliver crisis support as needed.

Prospective candidates hold a master’s or doctoral degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field and are licensed or eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania. Paid training is provided, and CHOR offers competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21+ years old.
  • Master’s or doctorate in psychology, social work, counseling, or related behavioral discipline.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.
  • Non-licensed staff must pursue licensure and attain it within 3 years.
  • Integrity and good moral character for work with children in residential/foster care.
  • Must pass ORR background investigations.
  • Proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases and TB screening.
  • Complete ORR pre-service training.
  • Sign CHOR Code of Conduct and ORR policy.
  • Disclose any misconduct on applications/interviews.

Responsibilities

  • Provide weekly individual counseling to assigned UACs.
  • Facilitate group counseling sessions twice weekly.
  • Conduct mental health assessments for new and ongoing UACs.
  • Screen for trauma history and indicators of human trafficking.
  • Deliver crisis support and coordinate emergency behavioral health response.
  • Document clinical services in the UAC Portal and confidential health record system.
  • Provide child-facing clinical services on-site at the program location.
  • Participate in clinical case reviews with the Lead Clinician.
  • Complete required training on evidence-based practices.
  • Exercise independent judgment per policy, ORR, and applicable law.
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and staff.
  • Maintain regular attendance and respond to program needs, including outside hours.

Education

Master’s or Doctorate degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related behavioral discipline
Counseling and therapeutic communication
Crisis intervention and risk assessment
Documentation in clinical systems
Interdisciplinary collaboration
