Job summary

High Point & Affiliated Organizations seeks a part-time clinician for Meadowbrook ATS/Brockton to provide assessments, counseling, and discharge planning. You will maintain caseloads, document care, and support patients and families throughout treatment and aftercare planning.

The role requires a bachelor’s in behavioral health and at least one year of supervised substance abuse counseling experience, with strong communication, ethics, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communications required.
• Understanding of relationship between substance use and mental health issues or self-help programs.
• Diagnostic and assessment skills with case management ability.
• Keep knowledge current on psychiatric symptoms and addiction.
• Collaborate across agencies.
• Ability to facilitate groups or lectures.
• Understand and enforce professional boundaries and ethics.
• Strong computer skills for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and submit licensure or certificates required for the position.
• Comply with regulations (42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA) and confidentiality policies.
• Participate in Treatment Team Meetings.
• Provide direct patient care including assessments, counseling, discharge planning, and bio-psychosocial notes.
• Maintain accurate medical records and timely documentation.
• Link patients with aftercare services and outpatient resources.

Clinician Requirements

Clinician Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains and submits any current Licensure or Certificate necessary for the performance of the position
• Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations
• Participate in Treatment Team Meetings
• Maintain assigned caseload; Providing direct care to patients – including assessments of the new patients, individual counseling, discharge planning, treatment plans, daily progress notes, daily groups, group note completion and completion of bio-psychosocial assessments
• Responsible for each assigned patients medical records. All records are to be professional, complete and thorough with entries made in a timely manners
• Provide direct care to the patients. This care will include, but not limited to, individual counseling, group facilitation, lectures, orientation for new patient’s. discharge and aftercare planning, and case management of patients assigned
• Responsible for linking patient’s with aftercare services prior to discharge and aiding the patient and his/her family access outpatient services when appropriate
• Attend all unit, facility meetings and case conferences as directed by the Clinical Director
• Attend mandatory trainings
• Responsible for continued education in the field of substance abuse and related courses
• Responsible for contacting the insurance company for authorization, as needed
• Utilize walkie-talkie as campus responder
• Utilize standards precautions at all times
• Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients as defined by the patient’s rights
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Director, the Clinical Director, and/or the Senior Clinician

Clinician Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health field
• Minimum of one (1) year of supervised substance abuse counseling experience
