Position Title
Clinician
General Statement of Responsibilities
The Clinician is responsible for direct services with children, adolescents and their families including but not limited to evaluation/assessment; home & community based services; outreach; case and care management; individual and family therapies; crisis intervention; record keeping; collaboration with other professionals, team members and related community services (including consultation and/or community and/or school placements); and program management/supervision. The Clinician assists in the supervision, development and implementation of assigned programs, services and staff. He/she may be assigned to carry a cell phone and responds to all calls for assistance either by telephone or in person (as clinically indicated).

Supervises: Program staff and interns.
Examples of Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual, family, and group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, and home/community-based behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and families.
- Implement treatment plans, including psychotherapy, advocacy, care coordination, and linkage to community resources, with support services as clinically indicated.
- Provide outreach and treatment services in a variety of community settings, including homes, schools, hospitals, shelters, and other locations based on client needs.
- Provide after-hours emergency mobile crisis services, including phone and in-person interventions, as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality and complete all required documentation, reports, and program records accurately and on time.
- Meet productivity standards established by program leadership.
- Provide clinical supervision to assigned staff and/or student interns, as applicable.
- Assist with the clinical and administrative operations, program development, marketing, grant writing, and community outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and other service providers to coordinate client care.
- Participate in supervision, staff meetings, trainings, agency and community committees, and other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications
- Must have the ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of both agency and client matters.
- Must understand and be able to display the clinical knowledge and expertise necessary to perform long term and brief therapy models, as well as crisis intervention.
- Must have knowledge and experience in trauma recovery oriented therapy approaches.
- Must have knowledge of cultural diversity and be capable of displaying cultural competency to the populations served by the program.
- Must be physically capable of participating in physical interventions (i.e. protective stances and limited physical interventions).
- Must be able to display knowledge and expertise in clinical theory and practice as it relates to the populations served by Wellmore, Inc.
- Must be capable of working as a part of a team and be able to effectively communicate with both families and professionals (in writing and verbally).
- Bi-lingual (Spanish-English) preferred.
Education & Experience
- A master’s degree in marriage and family therapy or social work and a Connecticut license as a Marriage and Family Therapist or Social Worker or a doctorate in psychology and a Connecticut license as a Psychologist is preferred (LMFTA or LMSW). A master’s degree in a human service field with at least a one year clinical internship working with children and/or adolescents and a Connecticut license as a Professional Counselor will be considered.
- At least one year post graduate clinical experience working with children, adolescents or families is required, four years experience is preferred.
- The clinician must be licensed eligible and attain such licensure within one year of the date of hire.
- Experience in group and family therapies is also preferred.
Licensure / Certification / Registration
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and valid auto insurance.
- CPR and first-aid.
