Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required or preferred in education, social work, public health, or related field.
  • Active licensure required (LMHC/LICSW).
  • 3–5 years of experience in substance use treatment.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory and training experience.
  • Experience developing trainings and adapting curricula using evidence-based approaches.
  • Experience with co-occurring disorders, trauma, homelessness preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
  • Must obtain Safety Care certification within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Hiring Managers to support competency-based training goals (evidence-based practice, person-centered care planning, cultural humility, trauma-informed care, integrated care, health and safety).
  • Provide hands-on, one-to-one, and small group coaching, training, and support in the milieu.
  • Deliver in-person training and coaching on de-escalation and crisis response using trauma-informed safety protocols.
  • Support all program sites with clinical skill and curriculum implementation.
  • Work across departments to ensure integrated care quality standards for patients in treatment.
  • Document coaching work and provide regular feedback with differentiated coaching strategies.
  • Develop Peer Leadership Training Academy curricula, client manuals, and leadership training plans.
  • Develop training plans for peer leaders to deliver peer-facilitated educational groups.

The Clinical Workforce Educator (Behavioral Health) is responsible for providing support, guidance, and accountability to clinical staff as they support our patients as they work towards their health goals. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team, delivering evidence-based health coaching and patient support, and facilitating wellness programs. The coach plays a vital role in improving the quality of patient care through the efficient use of resources and enhancing outcomes. Clinical Workforce Educator will support the growth and capacity development of staff by providing coaching, training, and professional development to staff in the Casa Esperanza community. The foundation of the Clinical Workforce Educator's work will be based on Casa’s vision, trauma-informed practices, responsive treatment, and curricular approaches that align with the Agency’s mission, vision, and values.

This person will collaborate and create ongoing, embedded professional development focusing on the implementation of inclusive, evidence-based practices, with an emphasis on group interventions and expressive therapies. We are seeking someone who believes in the potential and value of each staff member whom they support and are dedicated to their own ongoing professional growth and development. This person will hold the following responsibilities: Collaborate with Hiring Managers to support their work in setting and meeting competency-based training goals related to, evidence-based practice, person centered care planning, cultural humility, trauma informed care, integrated care, and health and safety.

What you'll do

Responsibilities of the Educator include:

  • Collaborate with the Chief Clinical Officer and Clinical Operations team to ensure quality standards are implemented (CARF, BSAS, MassHealth)
  • Working with individual managers and Program Directors to set achievable goals that support development and consistent application of best practices
  • Provide hands‑on, one to one, and small group coaching, training and support in the milieu
  • Provide in‑person training and coaching on de‑escalation and crisis response using trauma informed safety protocols
  • Support all program sites with clinical skill and curriculum implementation
  • Work in collaboration and across departments to ensure integrated care quality standards are implemented for patients in treatment
  • Utilize coaching protocols to structure and document work with each staff, including the provision of regular feedback and differentiated coaching strategies
  • Work with project staff to create a trauma‑informed and recovery‑oriented Peer Leadership Training Academy, including implementation of the curriculum, development of client manuals and workbooks, and leadership training plans.
  • Develop training plans for peer leaders to deliver peer‑facilitated educational groups and organize pro‑social activities.

Staff Training

  • Work with Program Director to develop, and implement curriculum content, training materials, and teaching aids that are aligned with relevant Treatment Improvement Protocols.
  • Develop procedures for staff to implement curriculum and provide “Train the trainer” sessions for key staff.
  • Oversee group curriculum to ensure they are current and being delivered in compliance with regulations and agency standards.
  • Observe staff in delivery of curriculums and provide coaching to improve their training/groups skills.
  • Work with the Director of Training to develop and lead required and enrich trainings for staff members across programs and departments.
  • Assist training director with logistics for in‑person and online training.
  • Acts as point of contact and completes administrative duties for training department when Director of Training is unavailable.

Clinical Work

  • Provide 8 hours of clinical support to Familias Unidas Outpatient Program. Duties can include assessments, individual or group interventions, clinical support to master level clinical interns, and other job duties as assigned by Chief Clinical Officer.

Additional Expectations

  • Self‑directed with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team and interested in using data to help direct care.
  • Efficient, organized, detail oriented, and able to complete tasks in time sensitive manner.

Qualifications

  • Education & Licensure:
  • Master’s degree in education, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field (preferred).
  • Active licensure required (LMHC/LICSW).
  • Experience:
  • 3–5 years of experience in substance use treatment.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory and training experience.
  • Background in training, mentoring, coaching, or program administration (preferred).
  • Experience developing trainings and adapting curricula using evidence‑based approaches.
  • Experience working with individuals with co‑occurring disorders, trauma, traumatic brain injury (TBI), learning disabilities, and/or homelessness (preferred).
  • Experience in Expressive Therapies (e.g., visual arts, theater, movement/dance, music) strongly preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to train staff across a variety of learning needs.
  • Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage tasks in a time‑sensitive environment.
  • Self‑directed, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Comfortable using data to inform and improve direct care practices.
  • Flexible to work non‑traditional hours, including some evenings and occasional weekends.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred).
  • Familiarity with cultural, social, economic, health, and substance use factors impacting workforce development.
  • Other Requirements:
  • Must obtain Safety Care certification within 3 months of hire.

Schedule

Work Type : hybrid, up to 50% in person.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, flexible hours, including some evenings and occasional weekends.

Team Dynamics: the team is made up of a Director of Training, Equity & Inclusion, Clinical Workforce Educator, Training Administrative Assistant, consultants and seasonal interns/volunteers.

Working Conditions: this position is full‑time, 30 hours per week in an office/training environments in the community or on campus. The schedule offers flexibility to meet the needs of the staffing patterns at the organization.
