Massanutten Animal Clinic offers veterinary externships through an NVA network, pairing students with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain hands-on clinical experience. You will gather histories, perform exams, and help create treatment plans, while observing or assisting with surgeries and dentistry.

Externs develop medical management skills and improve communication with the medical team, staff, and clients, within a supportive environment and consistent medicine focus.

Qualifications

• Must be a veterinary student enrolled in an AVMA‑accredited DVM program.
• Externs work with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain hands-on experience.
• Eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.

Responsabilités

• Gather patient histories and perform physical exams.
• Create treatment plans and diagnostic decisions.
• Observe/assist or perform surgical procedures and dentistry services.
• Develop medical management plans for patients.
• Hone communication with the medical team, staff, and clients.
