Job summary

Augusta University is seeking a Research Associate for the Clinical Trials Office to conduct research responsibilities for assigned studies, recruit and enroll patients, collect and enter study data, and maintain regulatory documents. The role supports investigators and the CTO in pilot and grant-funded clinical trials.

The position requires effective communication, multi-tasking, and adherence to FDA, sponsor, and institutional policies.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research.
• Or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' research and/or clinical experience
• Some previous experience with social/behavioral science (public health) research is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment of new study participants: recruitment of new study participants including screening/randomization.
• Assist with audit preparation and respond to internal audits from AU IRB Office.
• Data entry into sponsor's EDC or data upload systems and maintenance of AU OnCore.
• Communicate clearly at all times, conveying information professionally.
• Attend meetings, computer trainings and workshops.
• Flexible schedule with potential early mornings, after hours, nights and weekends up to two weeks on call per month.
• Review studies to develop strategies for enrollment and plan site visits.
• Work as a team player and respond to correspondence in a timely manner.
• Keep investigator informed of patient conditions and assist with adverse events and protocol changes.
• Serve as patient advocate, coordinate care and manage specimen handling per protocol and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain all FDA, sponsor, and IRB documentation and complete case report forms accurately.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
