Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking a Research Associate to support studies on veteran health, mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress in adults. Under supervision, you will help recruit and coordinate study participants and perform test administration and data collection.

You will manage submissions for publications and grant proposals to DoD and NIH, maintain filing systems, and assist with the clinical trials in collaboration with the Clinic Manager.

Qualifications

• Theoretical knowledge of a biological science.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience designing complex surveys with skip logic (Qualtrics preferred).
• Excellent organizational skills for scheduling visits and meetings.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and research databases.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, screen, induce and schedule research participants.
• Assist with test administration, data collection, and data management.
• Serve as primary study contact for investigators and collaborators.
• Manage submission of manuscripts and grant materials to DoD and NIH.
• Prepare biosketches and grant-related paperwork.
• Answer main office telephone and disseminate messages.
• Coordinate with Clinic Manager on clinical trials, including survey distribution.
• Maintain grant submission filing and track related documents.
