Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator to support multiple federally funded and industry-sponsored clinical studies in the Cardiovascular Institute. You will assist with study initiation, implementation, and day-to-day management, ensuring compliance with protocols and regulations.

The role involves participant recruitment, screening, collecting measurements, scheduling visits, coordinating lab work, and maintaining accurate regulatory and study documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of NIH, GCP, IIPP, HRPP, IATA Shipping of Blood Specimens, Bloodborne Pathogens.
• Experience recruiting for industry-initiated and funded projects.
• Experience completing case report forms and creating study-specific CRFs; REDCap experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate participant recruitment and screening.
• Obtain study measurements (vital signs, ECGs, height, weight).
• Schedule study visits and coordinate clinical, laboratory, and data collection activities.
• Process and ship laboratory specimens; enter data; maintain study records.
• Assist with regulatory submissions and documentation; maintain audit-ready files.
• Support adverse event documentation, monitoring visits, and protocol deviations.
