Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Research Contracts and Budgets Analyst to partner with clinical teams, negotiate study budgets, and manage contract terms for trials. The role supports training of junior staff while coordinating with sponsors, CROs, and vendors.

The position is 1–2 days onsite weekly in Anaheim, CA, offering hybrid work, competitive pay, and benefits. A background in clinical research and budgeting is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Over 4 years of experience working with clinical trials.
• At least 3 years of experience with contracts and budgeting in a clinical research setting.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting.
• Minimum of 2 years of research experience.
• Experience with billing processes and negotiating with sponsors.
• Strong understanding of clinical trials operations.
• Ability to review protocol/checklists (QCT).
• Proficiency with Excel and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate study agreements from initiation to completion, including various contract types.
• Prepare tracked changes and submit documents for legal review.
• Review protocols and determine impacts on coverage analysis and budgets.
• Develop and negotiate budgets to ensure full cost coverage.
• Collaborate with site teams on resources and CTMS documentation.
• Apply billing compliance, fair market value, and coverage analysis knowledge.
• Review amendments and implement changes to budgets and contracts.
• Use Excel to enhance budget templates and tools.
• Work with post‑award teams to streamline workflows.
