Job summary

Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust seeks a qualified Clinical Technologist for the Mechanical Engineering Services at Freeman Hospital. The role covers design, manufacture and installation of mechanical solutions, working with assistive devices and wheelchairs, and regional service delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree level in engineering or science, or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to use manual and CNC machine tools.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.
• Consideration for IPEM Clinical Technologist Training Scheme.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical MES support across Freeman Hospital and region.
• Lead projects from assessment to documentation and delivery.
• Ensure safe introduction and handover of manufactured/modified products.
• Develop CAD designs, prototyping, and production planning.
• Maintain compliance with quality management systems and IT tools.
