Job summary

Cleveland Clinic's Neurological Institute is expanding with a new facility and hiring Clinical Technicians across shifts.

As a Clinical Technician, you will support basic patient care under RN supervision, monitor patients, maintain clean rooms, and contribute to a safe, compassionate environment for excellent patient care. A high school diploma and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS Certification through AHA within new hire period (Nursing Student may have prior).
• At least 1 year of full-time patient care experience; substitutions allowed for education/training.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under RN supervision (vital signs, weight, personal care, dressing changes, external monitoring devices).
• Report abnormal findings to an RN.
• Keep patients' rooms clean and orderly.

We are expanding with a new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor, state-of-the-art facility on Cleveland Clinic Main Campus designed to elevate care for complex neurological conditions — including spine injuries, epileptic seizures, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis and stroke. We are hiring Clinical Technicians across a variety of shifts and departments. As a Clinical Technician, you’ll play an essential role in supporting quality patient care and creating a safe, comfortable environment. You’ll assist with basic patient care, maintain clean and organized patient rooms, and bring empathy and compassion to every interaction. • Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley Catheters.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.

• High School Diploma/GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within new hire period (Nursing Student req to have prior to hire)
• One year of recent, full-time patient care experience
• Additional education/training may substitute for some/all the stated experience
• Nursing students who have recently completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
• Medium Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force rarely, and/or 0 to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Medium Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $19.25

Maximum hourly: $25.95
