Job summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a Clinical Technician-Medical Surgical Telemetry to support care teams in the postoperative setting. Under the supervision of an RN, you will assist with vital signs, patient comfort, and use external monitoring devices to enhance patient safety and recovery.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and BLS certification, with a willingness to complete internal training within two weeks of hire. Prior patient care experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) by the end of the new hire period.

Responsibilities

A caregiver in this position works days from 6:00AM 6:30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, application of external monitoring devices, and inserting urinary Foley Catheters.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients rooms clean and orderly.
• Complete an internal training program within two weeks of hire.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within new hire period

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• One year of recent, full-time patient care experience OR nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program OR military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) OR additional education/training
