Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital – Transitional Care Unit seeks a dedicated Clinical Technician 2 to join our team. The role is full-time, daytime shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with weekends and holidays rotating. We provide direct patient care under RN supervision and emphasize teamwork, professionalism, and patient safety.

Training is included upon hire. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1 year as a clinical technician or acute care rotations with nursing program

Qualifications

• Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Education requirement: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1 year as Clinical Technician or completion of acute care rotations, and nursing program active enrollment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
• Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and visitors.
• Maintain professionalism and integrity within the healthcare system.
• Training: available six weeks of paid training including virtual orientations, virtual modules, and classroom sessions.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Clinical Technician 2 – Job Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients under direct supervision of registered nurse.
• Effectively communicates with team members, patients, and visitors.
• Maintains professionalism and integrity throughout the healthcare system.
• Training: Must be available six (6) for non-consecutive weeks of paid training, consisting of:
  • Virtual orientations (Two from 8AM -4:30PM)
  • Virtual training modules.
  • Classroom-style sessions: 8AM – 4:30PM (6 shifts total)
  • On-unit shifts
• May perform additional duties as assigned
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 1 year working as a Clinical Technician; or completed an acute care clinical rotations, and actively enrolled in a nursing program
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American HeartAssociation, or obtain within 90 days of hire
• Special Skills: Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift minimum of 35lbs pounds
