Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is seeking a dedicated Clinical Technician 2 for the unit on a part-time, day-shift basis (7am-7pm). The role includes a paid six-week training period and a schedule that may require weekday work with rotating weekends.

The position supports routine patient care under RN supervision, with emphasis on communication within the health team, and opportunities for professional development. Eligibility for benefits is noted.

Qualifications

• Experience: 1 year acute care as Clinical Tech or clinical rotation with an accredited nursing program.
• Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
• Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Special Skills: Proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to routine patients under RN supervision.
• Communicates effectively with health team, patients and families.
• Performs phlebotomy, starting and removing IVs, and other clinical skills taught in training.
• Supports unit leadership with education records and ongoing professional development.

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Clinical Technician 2 to join our team in the Unit. This role will be Benefits eligible, Part-Time, Day Shift (7am-7pm). Days vary each 6-week schedule period. Candidates Must be able to work any weekday when scheduled, rotating weekends. Candidates must be able to attend a paid 6-week training period at start of role, attending an initial Monday-Friday training schedule.

Clinical Technician 2 Job Responsibilities:

• Provides direct care to patients whose care requirements are routine and standardized, with predictable outcomes, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse
• Effectively communicates with health team members, patients and families; and works cooperatively with others.
• Assists unit leadership with overseeing other unit Clinical Technician education records.
• Has respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines.
• Maintains competencies and seeks opportunities to develop professionally.
• Identifies own learning needs based on self-evaluation and the progress made from the previous year's goals.
• Assumes responsibility for self-development in life-long learning and seeks opportunities to further increase practice knowledge.
• Performs phlebotomy, starting and removing IV’s, and other clinical skills, which will be included in initial 6-weeks of training.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Shift: Part Time, Day Shift (7am-7pm)
Schedule: Two 12 hour shifts per week - must be able to work all weekdays when scheduled, Monday – Friday as needed (with every other weekend rotation)
Training:Candidate must be able to attend a paid six-week Monday-Friday training course, including virtual training days, classroom training days, and hospital shifts.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: 1-year acute care experience as a Clinical Tech or clinical rotation with an accredited nursing program and/or 2 years of nursing school
Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire.
Special Skills: Proficient in English. Verbal and written communication skills required.
