Job summary

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a dedicated Clinical Technician 1 to join the Oncology team. This full-time night role runs 6:00 PM–6:30 AM with rotating days, weekends and holidays.

The position provides direct patient care under RN supervision, emphasizes teamwork, clear communication, and professionalism in a fast-paced oncology environment. Training includes virtual orientations, classroom sessions, and on-unit shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association or obtainable within 90 days of hire.
• Proficient verbal and written communication in English.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients under direct supervision of registered nurses.
• Effectively communicates with team members, patients, and visitors.
• Maintains professionalism and integrity throughout the healthcare system.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Training

• Virtual orientations (Two from 8AM -4:30PM)
• Classroom-style sessions: 8AM - 4:30PM (6 shifts total)
• Virtual training modules.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association, or obtain within 90 days of hire
• Special Skills: Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift minimum of 35lbs pounds
