They deliver outstanding patient service, maintaining a compassionate and welcoming atmosphere, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response. The position involves providing excellent customer service to all internal and external customers through in-depth knowledge and effective communication with team members.

Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Fulfill all responsibilities of the Patient Care Specialist position as detailed in the specific job description.
  • Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees, building confidence and credibility.
  • Provide clinical and administrative support, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Follow the Core Values of teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness.
  • Conduct activities consistent with department expectations and compliant with Federal and State regulations, including HIPAA.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
  • Perform patient triage by checking vitals, drawing blood, administering injections, etc.
  • Observe patients, document changes, and report adverse reactions or other concerns.
  • Assist with lab testing, phlebotomy, and minor procedures.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment.
  • Assist patients utilizing Virtual Medicine Providers.
  • Complete patient charts accurately and timely, forwarding as needed.
  • Arrange referrals and obtain pre-authorizations as directed.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and employees, fostering a respectful and professional work environment.
  • Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and drug screening exams.
  • Perform physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions as specified.
  • Adhere to company standards and promote confidentiality.
  • Complete mandatory compliance training.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the office and support a professional environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Secondary:

  • Assist with clerical tasks like patient check-in, demographic and insurance data collection.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and explain payment and billing policies.
  • Answer phones, take messages, and respond professionally.

Supporting Telehealth:

  • Prepare patient charts via virtual communication.
  • Assist with follow-ups, including pharmacy requests, paperwork, scheduling, and clinical calls.

Additional Requirements:

Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent, current CPR license, and at least 1 year of relevant experience (preferred in urgent care).

Level 2-4: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic, current CPR license, with experience requirements increasing with level. Specific experience durations are detailed in the full description.

Additional responsibilities include administrative duties like scheduling, ordering, and training.

*CPR license must be active within 7 days of hire.

Experience and Education Requirements
