Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Jackson, MI seeks a Clinical Tech to join the Cardiovascular ICU team. You'll work 36 hours weekly on a 3x12 shift pattern, delivering patient care under RNs and physicians, including vitals, procedures support, and mobility assistance.

You'll participate in data collection, safety checks, and basic clinical tasks such as Foley and glucose checks, with a focus on compassionate, culturally sensitive care across pediatrics to geriatrics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Either nursing student (completed two semesters) or RN/LP/LPN/EMT/Paramedic/MA program graduate.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred or required.
• Previous clinical tech experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals and assist with procedures under RN/physician supervision.
• Help with mobility, daily activities, and comfort measures for patients.
• Collect and document patient data accurately and promptly.
• Assist with oxygen devices and post‑pacemaker care as directed.
• Support bedside procedures and equipment use with safety.

JOB SUMMARY:

Eligible for $2,000 SIGN-ON BONUS – Join Our Team as a Clinical Tech at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital!

Department: Cardiovascular ICU

Location: Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, 205 N East Ave., Jackson, MI 49201

Schedule: 36 hours per week, every other weekend and holiday rotation

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12 hours shifts)

• Supporting mobility by helping patients ambulate and get where they need to go.


• Assisting with oxygen devices under RN direction and applying slings post‑pacemaker procedures.


• Performing clinical tasks such as Foley catheter insertion, bladder scans, enemas, blood glucose checks, and documenting results.


• Providing help with daily activities, like dressing, meals, and hygiene.


• Supporting RNs during equipment use and bedside procedures.


• Delivering culturally sensitive care to a wide range of patients — from pediatrics to geriatrics.


• Promoting positive experiences for patients and their families through kind, respectful interaction.


• Performing phlebotomy and IV access procedures with confidence and care.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

To qualify, you’ll need a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the following:

• Current nursing student who has minimally completed two semesters or has graduated from a Registered Nurse program


• Graduate of an LPN, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assistant program


• Certified in Phlebotomy


• Previous Clinical Tech experience

Also required:

• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills


• Ability to tailor care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations


• Experience in an acute care setting (preferred, not required)

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Valid BLS certification (or must be obtained during Patient Care Orientation)
