Job summary

Summit Pacific Medical Center is seeking an Informatics liaison to coordinate clinical information systems and optimize workflows with nursing, medical staff, and patient care areas. You will analyze operations, design information processes, and ensure alignment with professional standards to improve decision making around clinical systems.

On-site only; duties include training, ticket support, and collaboration with IT and clinical teams. Epic certification within 1 year is required.

  • Identifies workflow improvements to integrate IT into daily practice.
  • Educates clinicians and patients on EHR best practices.
  • Assists end users with problems, questions or projects related to the EHR.
  • Maintains patient privacy and HIPAA compliance in information workflows.

Job Summary

Clinical and technical liaison to nursing, medical staff and other patient care areas to coordinate and optimize aspects of planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of clinical information systems. This position will be responsible for analyzing complex clinical operations and structure processes to facilitate decision making regarding clinical systems. Utilizing the knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine and design information processes and ensuring information systems are consistent with professional standards of practice. Helps to identify, evaluate, and assess clinical information systems and develop recommendations on the impact of integration with existing workflows.

This is a fully on-site position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at our facility. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role.

Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Coaches, mentors, and provide one-on-one at the elbow support for members of the clinical team in gaining and maintaining competency in use of the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Serves as Tier 1 Informatics ticket support. Actively monitoring, triaging, troubleshooting, assigning, and resolving internal tickets. Escalating to host site, when appropriate.
  • Develops training materials, job aids, and documentation for end users as needed or in support of colleague work efforts. Assists in maintaining caregiver facing data repository.
  • Support Informatics project manager, acting as SME, providing regular updates and notification of risks or issues. Assists in gathering pre/post KPI data.
  • Identifies and implements applications or workflow process improvements that assist staff in assimilating information technology into their daily practice
  • Advocates for patients’ needs and rights pertaining to the healthcare system’s clinical information systems including issues of confidentiality of medical information
  • Educates clinicians and patients across the enterprise regarding the use of the EHR and associate best practices
  • Assists and supports end users with problems, questions or projects related to the EHR

Required Education And Experience

1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting.

Experience with teaching or training on new information systems.

Preferred Education And Experience

Associate degree or certification in clinical discipline (e.g., nursing, medical assistant, surgery technician, pharmacy technician), information technology, business administration, or a related healthcare field is preferred.

Health Information System Experience Strongly Desired Required Licenses,

Certifications and/or Registrations Epic certification required within 1 year of hire date.
