Job summary

Responsibilities

• Serve as a patient advocate during exam and treatment.
• Interview patients to obtain medical information and vitals.
• Show patients to examination rooms and prepare for physician.
• Record medical history, medications, allergies, and test results.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
• Explain treatment procedures and post-care instructions to patients.
• Assist physicians, hand instruments, or perform injections and sutures.
• Authorize drug refills under provider direction and notify pharmacies.
• Maintain sterile field and prepare treatment rooms for examinations.
