Job summary

UNC Health Caldwell Memorial Hospital is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to support patient care in multiple units across the Caldwell Memorial campus. The role includes transporting patients and equipment, setting up rooms, and performing clerical duties to support the care team.

Responsibilities include assisting with examinations, documenting changes in patient status, providing personal care, and reinforcing patient education.

Qualifications

• Fluent in verbal and written English.
• Ability to develop computer skills if not already proficient.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures.
• Document and report significant changes in patient condition to nurse or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks: organizing workload, greeting visitors, reviewing orders for clarity, data entry, and audits.
• Provide clinical support: patient transport, supply restocking, equipment upkeep, and orientation of new staff.
• Assist with personal care: bathing, dressing, feeding, ambulation, measuring vital signs, and specimen collection as needed.
