Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher-level degree may satisfy this requirement.
• Listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Must be fluent in verbal and written English language; able to develop computer skills if not competent.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procurement of equipment and supplies.
• Review patient care documentation and report significant changes to a nurse or physician.
• Perform clerical tasks, manage workload, greet visitors, review and transcribe orders, and maintain medical records.
• Provide clinical support including cleaning areas, transporting patients and supplies, and orienting new staff.
• Provide direct personal care to patients and document vital signs, measurements, and basic care activities.
• Reinforce patient teaching and distribute education materials as requested.
