JOB SUMMARY:

The Clinical Support Representative (CSR) supports the practice by performing clinical and administrative duties, including assisting patients in exam rooms, updating documentation, and cleaning and sterilizing equipment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Patient Care Accountabilities: Promptly rooms patients, using EMR to alert the provider that the patient is ready. Acts as a chaperone or patient observer during appointments or procedures if requested, assists patients with walking, transfers, dressing, and remains in exam rooms when necessary. Functions as a witness for procedural consents if required. Responds appropriately to emergency/code situations.
2. Clerical / Other Accountabilities: Obtains and scans documents such as test results, faxes, reports, notes, and referrals. Completes medical forms and requests for information. Prepares and sends patient correspondence. Assists with maintaining patient education materials. Performs call-backs as directed by providers. Provides follow-up care instructions.
3. Environmental / Safety Accountabilities: Adheres to infection control policies, disposes of infectious waste properly, and maintains a clean and organized environment. Cleans and disinfects instruments and equipment, checks for malfunctions, and restocks supplies. Maintains medication storage and security if applicable.
4. Other / Regulatory: Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory standards (e.g., TJC, HIPAA). Adapts to new processes and supports practice operations. Performs duties in line with Penn Medicine values and policies. Completes other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. HS Diploma/GED (Required)
2. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant program (Preferred)
3. 1+ years of related experience (Preferred)
4. CPR Certification (Required)
