Job summary

The Cancer Center of South Florida PLLC is seeking a Non-Certified Medical Assistant to support clinicians during patient examinations, manage in-office testing and vital signs, and help ensure smooth patient flow within the practice.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy (if certified), lab processing, EMR use for orders and documentation, and coordination of equipment and room preparation to maintain efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate from an accredited medical assisting school required.
• Minimum two years’ experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• BLS Certification required within 30 days of hire; Phlebotomy certification preferred; RMA/CMA/CCMA required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients, measure and document vital signs, update medications, place lab orders, and print requisitions.
• Perform phlebotomy services if certified in phlebotomy.
• Prepare lab specimens and perform in-office tests as directed.
• Ensure labs, reports, and patient information are available prior to appointments; obtain missing results from lab portals.
• Provide patient instructions, maintain stocked exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and coordinate equipment maintenance.
• Communicate patient readiness and clinical updates to providers; triage calls and messages efficiently.
• Perform genetic blood tests, complete required documentation, and assist with chart reviews, audits, and reporting.
• Assist with other administrative, clinical, and patient care-related duties to support efficient clinic operations.
