The role focuses on efficient patient flow, staff mentoring, and coordination with providers and the Pediatric Clinical Coordinator to maintain a safe and well-equipped clinical area. The position requires an RN or LPN nursing program graduate with at least 2 years of medical office experience, SC RN or LPN licensure, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited RN or LPN nursing program.
  • Minimum of 2 years medical office practice.
  • SC Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
  • Current BLS.

Responsibilities

  • Implements CHC’s mission statement and practice expectations in the delivery of patient care.
  • Maintains nursing schedule to meet practice needs and budget limitations in the absence of Pediatric Practice Clinical Coordinator.
  • Assists with clinical duties as needed.
  • Ensures timely and efficient patient flow.
  • Collaborates with providers and nurses to identify needs and solutions to problems that may occur within the practice.
  • Promotes quality clinical staff practice by interpreting and applying CHC policy and procedures for safety, quality improvement, personnel and corporate practice.

  • Maintains adequate clinical supplies and functioning equipment.

General Description

The Clinical Support Coordinator is responsible for the efficient and safe clinical staff performance in the medical practice. Responsible for leading/coaching staff in conjunction with the providers and the Pediatric Clinical Coordinator. Maintains the clinical area including supplies, equipment needed to provide patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implements CHC’s mission statement and practice expectations in the delivery of patient care.
  • Maintains nursing schedule to meet practice needs and budget limitations in the absence of Pediatric Practice Clinical Coordinator.
  • Assists with clinical duties as needed.
  • Ensures timely and efficient patient flow.
  • Collaborates with providers and nurses to identify needs and solutions to problems that may occur within the practice.
  • Promotes quality clinical staff practice by interpreting and applying CHC policy and procedures for safety, quality improvement, personnel and corporate practice.
  • Ensures a safe, clean and efficient clinical area.
  • Maintains adequate clinical supplies and functioning equipment.
  • Delegates office duties to individual staff members.
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with external agencies such as DHEC, school districts etc.
  • Assists in community health promotion/disease prevention efforts.
  • Assists with clinical educational needs of staff and develops resources to meet them.
  • Assists with holding monthly clinical staff meetings. Communicates by email as needed for informational needs or when staff meetings are not possible.
  • Assists with assigning preceptors for student nurses and monitors their performance.
  • Assists with precepts or delegates responsibilities for orientation of new staff.
  • Promotes excellent clinical staff performance through mentoring and counseling.
  • Collaborates with Pediatrics Practice Clinical Coordinator on evaluation of clinical staff performance.
  • Assists with documenting staff performance using CHC evaluation forms and disciplinary guidelines.
  • Coordinates with Pediatric Clinical Coordinator interventions that will support and meet identified performance issues with individual staff.
  • Coordinates with Pediatric Practice Clinical Coordinator to promote positive teamwork that will result in excellent patient care.
  • Coordinates with the Laboratory Coordinator to maintain laboratory supplies, implement lab procedures and meet CLIA standards of care.
  • Assists Beckman Mental Health personnel to ensure smooth transition and coordination of patients’ mental health care.

  • Directly supervised by Nurse Manager
Workers Supervised
  • Manages clinical support staff when Nurse Manager is out
Interrelationships
  • Works in cooperation with the all staff, patients, and external agencies

Education
  • Graduate of accredited RN or LPN nursing program
