The Clinical Nursing Supervisor at Olympia Fields Hospital provides administrative oversight for the ICU department and collaborates with the unit Director and/or Manager to ensure quality patient care and regulatory compliance. This role participates in orientation, training, and performance improvement initiatives, directing staff, and managing resources during night shifts.

Competenze

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• BLS certification upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS certification upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
• CCRN certificate preferred for Intensive Care.
• NRP required 90 days after hire and maintained.
• Professional Certification within 2 years of hire, preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.

Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current federal and/or state regulations. The Clinical Supervisor prepares, conducts and/or oversees department(s) orientation and training of personnel. Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally. The Clinical Supervisor is responsibility and accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift. Assists the Department Director in the daily operations of the unit, directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment and staff. Ensure the efficient functions of the department. Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice. Continually assess care and direct staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Training

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support certificate (BLS) upon hire and maintain current.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.

Facility / Unit Training

• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate preferred for Intensive Care.
• Non-OB Facilities – NRP Required 90 days after hire and maintained.
• Professional Certification within 2 years of hire, preferred.
• Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
