Job description

Welcome to Derm Collective North Shore! Our privately‑owned dermatology practice, founded by board‑certified dermatologists Dr. Todd Johnson and Dr. Rachel Pritzker, offers premier clinical dermatologic care specializing in general and surgical dermatology, Mohs surgery, and aesthetics.

Our vision is to set a distinguished standard in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, embodying innovation, integrity, and excellence. We empower patients with knowledge, choices, and guidance, enabling informed decisions that align with their individual skin health goals. We are committed to cultivating enduring relationships and establishing an organization that fosters positivity, collaboration, and a joyful environment for all.

Summary of Position

The Clinical Supervisor plays a pivotal role in our dermatology practice, overseeing the day‑to‑day operations of the clinical department while serving as the primary resource and first point of contact for Medical Assistants. This position supports dermatology providers in delivering exceptional patient care and ensures the clinical department operates efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with all applicable regulations.

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for optimizing patient flow, room readiness, clinical workflows, equipment performance, and supply management across general dermatology, surgical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and Mohs surgery services. This role also leads the onboarding and training of new Clinical Assistants and supports the ongoing development of the clinical team through continuous education, daily huddles, and regular clinic meetings.

As a leadership and accountability role without direct managerial responsibility, the Clinical Supervisor provides guidance, coordination, real‑time problem‑solving, and clinical leadership on the floor. Serving as the operational anchor of the clinical team, this individual proactively identifies and addresses issues, escalating concerns to management or the Medical Director(s) as appropriate.

Key responsibilities include preparing procedure rooms, ensuring patients are properly prepared and ready to be seen, maintaining efficient and timely patient flow, assisting providers during procedures, supporting patient care plans, and helping patients throughout their skincare journey. The Clinical Supervisor is also responsible for maintaining clean, organized, and fully operational clinical spaces; ensuring equipment is properly maintained and functioning optimally; overseeing daily clinical workflows and departmental processes; and managing inventory levels of medical supplies and equipment, including ordering and replenishment as needed.

In addition, this role ensures that daily clinical and laboratory operations comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA and CLIA requirements. The Clinical Supervisor supports the maintenance and renewal of CLIA certification by overseeing laboratory setup, quality control practices, documentation, and inspection readiness.

All duties are performed in accordance with applicable government regulations, company policies, and established standard operating procedures (SOPs).
