Job description

This position is eligible for American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, which include a one-time $750.00 sign-on bonus payable after 90 days of employment, as well as a monthly stipend of up to $694.50 based on hours worked in the previous month. These funds are guaranteed through June 30, 2023.

Job Summary

This position provides clinical supervision and treatment to families involved in transition to Family Care Community Partnerships (FCCP). Responsibilities include conducting assessments, supervising staff responsible for family advocacy and education, and developing family-centered treatment plans.

The role involves outreach family counseling for clients assigned through EBFCCP, utilizing various treatment interventions as part of the Care Planning Team. Due to workflow and responsibility levels, flexibility in scheduling beyond 40 hours per week may be required. The supervisor reports directly to the EBFCCP Director, who provides supervision and training.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supervise and guide the Family Service Coordinator’s open cases.
  • Conduct strength-based, culturally competent family needs assessments engaging parents.
  • Collaborate with the Care Planning Team to develop the Family Care Plan (FCP).
  • Coordinate case conferences and meetings to update the FCP as needed.
  • Utilize a home-based strength model to assist families in reunification or avoiding separation.
  • Address psychological and emotional issues affecting parenting through family-centered care planning.
  • Provide home-based therapy to ensure safe and independent functioning.
  • Respond promptly to family crises with clinical assessments.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor ongoing case plans, coordinating services within EBFCCP and the community.
  • Maintain case records and serve as an Emergency Access response worker when needed.
  • Offer clinical counseling in-home as necessary.
  • Support families with young children on issues related to separation and readjustment.
  • Coordinate services with schools, police, healthcare providers, courts, and other agencies.
  • Keep all required case records and statistics.
  • Educate parents on developmental stages of children.
  • Maintain positive relationships within the agency and with external partners.
  • Represent EBFCCP at state and local meetings.
  • Maintain on-call coverage for emergency response and stay in contact throughout the day.
  • Manage community relations related to program interactions.
  • Review logs and adjust programs as needed.
  • Ensure services meet standards and client needs within established timelines.
  • Transmit client intake, termination, and demographic data for billing.
  • Promote teamwork among staff and seek supervision when needed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Active Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) RI license preferred.
  • Active Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) RI license required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in family-based services, including 1 year in a supervisory or administrative role.
