Position Summary

Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to perform basic pharmacist procedures in the assigned area, aligned with scientific principles and Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Develop, implement, and maintain clinical pharmacy services at the designated practice site under the direction of the Pharmacy Clinical Manager.
• Plan, organize, execute, and monitor clinical pharmacy services to improve patient care quality while utilizing resources effectively.
• Coordinate activities within the pharmacy department to ensure comprehensive clinical services meet patient and community needs.
• Document clinical activities appropriately for pharmacy management and hospital accreditation.
• Facilitate pharmacotherapy and pharmacokinetic consultations with physicians and healthcare providers.
• Assist with nutritional support consultations as applicable.
• Engage in continuous professional development related to clinical practice.
• Support staff pharmacist education and training on core competencies.
• Develop policies, procedures, guidelines, and programs for clinical pharmacy services.
• Participate in multidisciplinary committees, such as the Pharmacotherapy Committee.
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with policies and standards.
• Ensure compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Other Related Functions

• Participate in pharmacy and medical resident training, including rounds and educational programs.
• Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students and interns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Training

Pharmacy degree (Bachelor of Science or PharmD) required.

Licensure/Certification

Must be licensed by the Florida Board of Pharmacy, renewed every two years.

Experience

Must meet one of the following:

• Two years of completion of an ASHP-accredited residency or fellowship in a specialty area.
• One year of residency plus at least one year of specialty practice experience.
• Five years of clinical pharmacy experience.
