Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program.
• Minimum 1.5 years full-time clinical experience as a Speech Pathologist.
• Licensed by the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology; ASHA Certification; CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive diagnostic evaluations of speech, language, cognitive and swallowing abilities.
• Develops and implements individualized treatment plans with measurable goals and family participation.
• Maintains quality documentation including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Participates in care conferences, family conferences, and interdepartmental meetings.
• Counsels families regarding evaluation, care and treatment; completes discharge planning.
• Supervises Speech Pathology students and volunteers; assists in supervising Rehab Techs.
• Participates in orientation of new associates and scheduling to ensure coverage.
• Supports Performance Improvement activities and community referrals.
• Identifies educational opportunities for self, department, students and community.
