Neuromodulation

Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum.

The Opportunity

We are actively recruiting for a Clinical Specialist I. As a member of the clinical support team, you will provide technical clinical expertise and support the sales process to colleagues, current customers, and potential customers. You will work under general direction with clinical and sales teammates to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities by creating competency, comfort, and expertise with all Abbott Chronic Pain Therapies among physicians, support staff, and customers within your assigned geography. This role involves a high degree of independence, requiring you to exercise judgment in planning, organizing, and performing work. You will also seek to continually improve territory efficiency.

What You’ll Work On

  • Provide technical, clinical, and programming assistance, primarily supporting 1-2 Territory Managers.
  • Assist Territory Managers in after-hours call support and activities.
  • Build trust and strong rapport with customers by integrating into all accounts.
  • Proficiently perform complex programming and case support.
  • Work seamlessly with Territory Managers to increase their selling time.
  • Foster high-trust relationships with customers and regional team members.
  • Conduct PCP work and educational services as directed.
  • Engage with clients and potential clients about the company’s products, addressing questions and concerns.
  • Support medical professionals with training, in-services, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of accounts, including competitor activity.
  • Evaluate and develop sales strategies for capital equipment opportunities.
  • Monitor competitor activity regarding sales, prices, and products.
  • Provide feedback to providers on device use directions.
  • Attend trade shows and conferences to showcase products and discuss developments.
  • Identify customer training and in-service needs to increase product usage and understanding.
  • Comply with FDA regulations, company policies, and operating procedures.
  • Support sales, provide clinical in-services, and maintain positive communications with all stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel 25% within and outside the assigned region.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or technical certification; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ experience, preferably working with patients in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to understand and educate clinical data related to Chronic Pain Therapies.
  • Strong clinical skills, organizational skills, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and work in a fast-paced, diverse environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with healthcare-related patient interaction (e.g., PT, RN, LPN).
  • Experience in enterprise or cross-division business models.
  • 1-3 years’ experience with Abbott or similar implantable medical devices, such as spinal cord stimulation systems.

The base pay for this position ranges from $60,000 to $120,000, depending on location.
