Neuromodulation
Our Neuromodulation business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum.
The Opportunity
Our team is actively recruiting for a Clinical Specialist I. As a member of the clinical support team, you will be responsible for providing technical clinical expertise and support of the sales process to colleagues, current customers, and potential customers. You will work under general direction with clinical and sales teammates to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities by creating competency, comfort, and expertise with all Abbott Chronic Pain Therapies among physicians, support staff, and customers within the assigned geography. The role involves a high degree of independence, requiring exercise of independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing work. You will seek to continually improve territory efficiency.
What You’ll Work On
- Providing technical, clinical, and programming assistance, primarily supporting 1-2 Territory Managers.
- Assisting Territory Managers in after-hours call support and activities.
- Building trust and strong rapport with customers by integrating into all accounts.
- Proficiently supporting complex programming and cases.
- Working seamlessly with Territory Managers to increase selling time.
- Fostering high-trust relationships with customers and regional team members.
- Conducting PCP work and educational services as directed.
- Engaging clients and potential clients, addressing questions and concerns.
- Providing sales support, training, and technical troubleshooting to medical professionals.
- Developing in-depth knowledge of accounts, competitors, and market activity.
- Evaluating and developing sales strategies for capital equipment opportunities.
- Monitoring competitor activity and product information.
- Providing feedback on device use directions in clinical settings.
- Attending trade shows and conferences to stay updated on new products and technologies.
- Using clinical expertise to identify training and in-service needs to increase customer usage and understanding.
- Complying with FDA regulations, company policies, and operational procedures.
- Supporting sales, providing clinical in-services, and maintaining communication across all levels.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Ability to travel 25% within and outside the region.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree or technical certification; preferred Bachelor’s Degree.
- 1-2 years’ work experience, preferably collaborating with patients in clinical settings.
- Ability to understand and educate on clinical data in the Chronic Pain Therapies space.
- Strong clinical skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Effective communication skills at multiple organizational levels and to large groups.
- Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
- Flexibility to work unpredictable schedules with short-notice changes.
- Experience managing deadlines and multiple tasks.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to work in a highly matrixed, diverse environment.
- Teamwork and individual contributor skills in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to engage customers in selling conversations as directed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Patient interaction experience in healthcare environments (e.g., Physical Therapy, medical product sales, RN, LPN).
- Experience in enterprise or cross-division business models.
- 1-3 years’ experience with Abbott or in similar spinal cord stimulation (SCS) or implantable device settings.

The base pay for this position is: $60,000.00 – $120,000.00
