Job summary

Brainlab is seeking a Biomedical Engineer (Clinical Specialist) for on-site consulting with physicians and OR teams to optimize Brainlab product usage. The role includes managing install bases, resolving product issues via Salesforce, and contributing to quality improvements through engineering input.

The position requires a B.S. in a relevant field, 1-3 years in technical healthcare support, and 1-2 years of healthcare sales experience.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Clinical Engineering, or Nursing.
  • 1-3 years minimum experience in a technical support role preferably for a healthcare company or Provider.
  • 1-2 years minimum sales experience with healthcare company preferred.
  • Knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy and medical terminology preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of PC software applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented and a proven history of ability to make independent decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site consulting and guidance to physicians and OR personnel to maximize Brainlab product usage.
  • Manage and maintain install base, including basic 3rd Party integrations.
  • Analyze and resolve product issues for Brainlab systems via Salesforce with detailed analysis.
  • Utilize engineering expertise to contribute to the quality improvement process by recommending product modifications.
  • Provide clinical case coverage & support for Complex Cases and Go Live launches.
  • Manage the process of driving customer utilization via unique workflows and special applications.
  • Act as escalation point for clinical regional issues.
  • Direct and assist Radiology staff in performing necessary scans prior to surgery.
  • Educate/train physicians and hospital personnel on the use of IGS products and services.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for hospital staff enabling in-house training.
  • Act as primary customer liaison, maintaining contact with customer and assessing satisfaction.
  • Work with the Application Consultant to increase revenue via sale of spare parts, upgrades, etc.
  • Collaborate with Area Account Manager, Marketing Manager on upgrades, demos, and R&D projects.
  • Attend meetings and trade shows to demonstrate and promote IGS products and services.
  • Keep abreast of Brainlab and competitive IGS products via ongoing training and research.
  • Collaborate with Regional Support Manager to provide content for team calls/meetings.
  • Maintain Salesforce documentation of all working hours.
  • Attend IGS Continuing Education annually and maintain product certification competency.
