Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital’s Social Work Emergency Services team provides biopsychosocial assessments and trauma-informed interventions across the Emergency Department and inpatient settings. We are seeking a social worker for our weekend overnight shift, onsite.

New hires may receive a $625 sign-on bonus and weekend shift differential. The role requires a Master’s degree in social work and state licensure (MA LCSW/LICSW) with strong clinical skills, and Spanish language abilities are a plus.

• Strong clinical skills and experience with various therapeutic modalities.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Previous medical social work experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Providing clinical social work services to assist patients and families with personal, family, medical and environmental difficulties.
• Performing psychosocial and risk assessments, assigning diagnoses and developing and implementing interventions and treatment plans.
• Participating in discharge planning and outpatient service planning and collaborating with health care teams and community agencies to ensure follow-up and provision of needed services.

Position Summary/Department Summary:

Boston Children’s Hospital’s acclaimed Social Work Emergency Services team responds to social needs and issues in the Emergency Department and throughout inpatient services. This includes performing biopsychosocial assessments, as well as implementing trauma-informed, strengths-based interventions. We also provide management and advocacy for both patients and families. Boston Children’s Hospital’s acclaimed Social Work Emergency Services team responds to social needs and issues in the Emergency Department and throughout inpatient services. We are currently seeking a social worker for our e/o weekend Sunday overnight position

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing clinical social work services to assist patients and families with personal, family, medical and environmental difficulties.


• Performing psychosocial and risk assessments, assigning diagnoses and developing and implementing interventions and treatment plans.


• Participating in planning and implementation of discharge and outpatient service plans and collaborating with health care team and community agencies to plan, implementing and following up on treatment and provision of needed services.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

• A master’s degree in social work

Experience:

• Strong clinical skills and experience with various therapeutic modalities.


• Previous medical social work experience a plus


• Spanish language skills are a plus

Licensure/Certification:

• State of MA LCSW or LICSW is required.

This position is 100% onsite

New hires are eligible for a $625 sign on bonus, and additional shift differential pay for working weekend overnight hours!
