Castle Biosciences Inc. is hiring a full-time Clinical Services, Junior Specimen Processor to work at our Pittsburgh, PA office. Start date is October 1, 2026, with a schedule Monday–Friday in office.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; at least 1 year of experience in a laboratory or clinical setting preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in a laboratory or clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Open incoming specimen shipments and verify documentation accurately.
  • Sort specimens by test type and distribute to staff for processing.
  • Scan records into the appropriate systems and maintain data quality.
  • Ensure timely delivery of specimens and support supply chain integrity.
  • Follow safety rules and communicate issues to supervisors; maintain a clean, organized work area.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; 1 year lab/clinical experience preferred

Castle Biosciences Inc. is growing, and we are looking to hire a full-time Clinical Services, Junior Specimen Processor working from our Pittsburgh, PA office location, with a start date of October 1, 2026.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Junior Specimen Processor

This role is primarily responsible for opening incoming specimen shipments received from various sources such as pathology laboratories, hospitals, and clinics, ensuring each specimen is accurately matched with the appropriate documentation. A significant portion of time is dedicated to sorting specimens based on test type and distributing them to the appropriate staff for processing, while also scanning records into the appropriate systems as needed. The position requires a strong focus on quality and accuracy, ensuring all work is complete and compliant with established procedures and departmental productivity standards. Additional responsibilities include ensuring timely delivery of specimens, performing specimen returns upon completion of testing, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and supporting supply chain integrity for both internal operations and external customer needs. The individual must follow all safety rules and defined practices, communicate any issues to supervisors as appropriate, and contribute positively to team efforts while adapting professionally to ongoing changes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and at least 1 year of experience in a laboratory or clinical setting preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1 year of experience in a laboratory or clinical setting preferred.
SCHEDULE
  • Monday-Friday, in office 5 days a week from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, working from the Pittsburgh, PA office location.
