A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A R&D Sr. Scientist, Pipeline

The Senior Scientist, Pipeline, will engage with colleagues in R&D to evaluate, develop and validate clinical devices and molecular biomarkers that improve disease diagnosis, prognosis, and/or prediction of response to therapy. Your day will include evaluating opportunities for new clinical devices and tests as you collaborate with cross functional colleagues to create business cases and project plans that include experiments, study protocols and analysis plans. You will support Castle's Clinical Research team through the organization, auditing, and interpretation of clinical research and technical data collected as part of ongoing studies and trials to develop validity and utility evidence for clinically offered and pipeline devices and tests. You will work with teams across Castle Biosciences to produce critical scientific messaging materials, including peer-reviewed publications, abstracts for national and regional meetings, supportive slide decks, payer reimbursement documents, patient reports, and commercial literature, to train internal personnel and educate external customers (physicians) and patients.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Master's or PhD in life sciences or a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years of postgraduate medical writing experience in life sciences or industry equivalent in the biotech sector.
  • PhD level training in life sciences or biomedical engineering
  • The ability to successfully communicate and teach in a complex and competitive environment.
SCHEDULE
  • Monday - Friday, in-office 5 days a week from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, exempt position, working from the Friendswood TX headquarters (preferred). May consider Pittsburgh, PA @ Nova Place office.
