Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Clinical Services Associate to support the Patient Access ED Spruce team at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. You will assist in patient care, manage administration, and help coordinate services within the EMR environment.

The role requires clinical and clerical duties, adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and teamwork with physicians, nurses, and staff to deliver high‑quality patient service.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of medical office experience or relevant customer service experience.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• MA Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Basic Life Support required (BLS)

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients promptly and prepares chart for visit using EMR.
• Documents vital signs, medications, and referrals in EMR.
• Assists with phlebotomy, lab tests, and specimen handling as needed.
• Supports care coordination with providers, nursing staff, and patients.
• Manages patient scheduling, check-in/out, and copays per protocol.
• Ensures infection control and safety practices in the practice setting.
