Job Title: Clinical Service Associate (Medical Assistant)

Department: Med Endocrinology 1MAL

Location: Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine-3400 Civic Center Blvd

Hours: Fulltime, 7:30am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday

Summary: The Clinical Services Associate (CSA) assists the practice manager and physicians in maintaining a patient/customer focus, supports the delivery of high-quality care, and helps meet patient satisfaction and operational targets. The CSA performs clinical and administrative duties as a Medical Assistant and Patient Services Associate, with the specific time allocated based on operational needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Patient care: room patients, review medical history, obtain vital signs, prepare charts, assist with specimens, perform EKGs, support minor procedures, administer medications/vaccines, observe patient conditions, and communicate abnormal findings.
  • Clerical duties: manage patient communications, schedule appointments, process documents, and support patient education materials.
  • Environmental/Safety: adhere to infection control policies, maintain equipment, and ensure safety protocols.
  • Patient Service: manage patient flow, handle inquiries, and ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Financial: understand insurance requirements, process payments, and manage supplies and inventory.
  • Regulatory: comply with all applicable standards and policies.

Credentials:

  • MA Certification (required within 90 days of hire)
  • BLS/CPR certification (required)
  • Complete/pass EPIC training/tests upon hire

Education/Experience:

  • H.S. Diploma/GED (required)
  • 2+ years medical office or relevant customer service experience
  • Alternatively, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Multi-tasking ability
  • Proficiency in EMR and knowledge of billing requirements
