Position: Clinical Services Associate (Medical Assistant)

Location: Medical Arts Building, Suite 111, 3801 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104

Hours: Per Departmental Needs – Full Time

Responsibilities

Patient Care Accountabilities

• Room patients promptly, review medical history, note corrections, obtain vital signs, prepare charts, and understand insurance restrictions.
• Observe patient condition and communicate abnormalities to providers.
• Assist patients with walking, transfers, and preparing for exams.
• Manage specimens, perform lab tests, record results, and perform quality controls.
• Perform EKGs and outpatient screening tests, documenting results accurately.
• Assist with minor surgical procedures, maintain sterile fields, and respond to emergencies.
• If applicable, administer medications, give injections, and read PPD results under provider supervision.

Clerical / Other Accountabilities

• Handle telephonic patient care, coordinate with other services, obtain, and scan documents.
• Complete forms, prepare correspondence, and assist with patient education materials.

Environmental / Safety Accountabilities

• Follow infection control policies, maintain a clean environment, and ensure equipment is in working order.
• Maintain medication storage security and perform safety checks.

Patient Service

• Understand patient needs, manage service recovery, and improve patient experience.
• Answer phones, manage requests, schedule appointments, and handle check-out procedures.

Financial

• Stay updated on insurance requirements, validate demographic and insurance info, and ensure accurate billing.

Other / Regulatory

• Comply with all applicable regulatory standards and adapt to practice changes.

Credentials

• BLS/CPR certification required.
• MA Certification required within 90 days of hire if in PA.

Education/Experience

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or relevant experience considered.
• 2+ years medical office or customer service experience preferred.
• Associate's Degree preferred.
