Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Scribe to document information in the electronic medical record under the direction of the physician or advanced practice clinician. The Scribe will document the provider's dictation and activities, without patient care responsibilities.

In-person scribes may also serve as a chaperone after required education. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, with a preferred bachelor’s degree, and at least six months in a medical customer service setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Six months customer service in medical field preferred.
• Strong terminology, spelling, and documentation skills.
• Ability to document accurately and promptly in EMR.
• Professional demeanor and privacy awareness.
• Chaperone training if the Scribe will also be serving as a chaperone during sensitive exams.

Responsibilities
