Job summary

University Support Services, LLC is seeking a Financial Aid Counselor – Clinical Sciences to guide students through the entire financial aid lifecycle, from entering clinical sciences to graduation, ensuring understanding of eligibility, borrowing responsibilities, and repayment obligations.

The role reports to the Associate Director of Financial Aid and involves counseling on federal and private loans, debt management, and financial literacy, with a focus on compliance with federal regulations

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 1–3 years of financial aid experience in higher education.
Experience in credit counseling, private loan counseling, and debt management counseling is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with Title IV, NSLDS, COD, and private loan certification processes.

Responsibilities

Provide one‑on‑one counseling on federal and private loan programs including eligibility and disbursement timelines.
Deliver credit counseling to educate students on credit reports and borrowing capacity.
Provide private loan counseling, ensuring understanding of terms and repayment obligations.
Offer debt management counseling with repayment strategies and budgeting tools.
Guide students through federal loan counseling and regulatory compliance.
Counsel students on tuition, living expenses, and academic progression.
