Job summary

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Clinical Manager to lead nursing care delivery within pediatric units. This role involves supervision, staff development, and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes across shifts.

You will coordinate resources, participate in safety and regulatory readiness, and partner with multidisciplinary teams to advance clinical practice in a high-volume pediatric environment.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active Florida RN license (or multi-state).
• Certification in nursing administration or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years pediatric nursing experience.
• Previous management/leadership/education experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Involved in quality, safety, patient experience outcomes and helps plan, organize, and lead the delivery of nursing care.
• Accountability and supervision of all registered nurses and other healthcare providers delivering nursing care in the unit.

• Manage resources effectively, monitor expenses, and ensure budget compliance.
• Maintain adequate staffing coverage and justify changes based on capacity and demand.
• Maintain educational resources to support clinical practice and staff development.
• Train new staff and ongoing education through orientation, competencies, in-service, and career development.
• Identify educational needs through assessments and analyses.

The Clinical Manager is a clinical administrator with unit or department level span of influence requiring distinct clinical or academic expertise. The Clinical Manager shares the responsibility of the supervision and evaluation of associates and with the organizational structure and size of the unit(s), also has teaching responsibilities and may have direct patient care responsibilities.

Position Responsibilities

• Involved in quality, safety, patient experience outcomes; and helps plan, organize, and lead the delivery of nursing care.
• Accountability and supervision of all registered nurses and other healthcare providers who deliver nursing care in the clinical area.
• Recruitment and retention, coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, performance review, education, and professional development
• Responsible for effective and efficient utilization of resources in daily management decisions, monitoring expenses and compliance with budget
• Maintains adequate coverage in the assigned clinical area and when necessary, provides justification for changes in staffing levels based on capacity and demand.
• Maintain educational resources within the department to assess, support, and advance clinical practice and offer programs to meet needs for all shifts.
• Responsible for training of new staff and ongoing training of existing staff throughorientation, competencies, in-service/continuing education, career development & role transition, and research & scholarship.
• Identifies educational needs through assessments and analysis.
• Assures nursing compliance with regulatory readiness agencies.
• Supports evidence based pediatric nursing.
• Directs nursing planning and policy making through collaboration
• Maintain current knowledge and competency in direct patient care
• Comply with The Standards of Nursing Administration Practice.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree - BSN required [from an accredited school of nursing];Master's Degree - MSN preferred [In nursing leadership/management, policy, or administration preferred, from an accredited school of nursing]
• Active Florida or multi-state RN license, required
• Professional certification in nursing administration, or other relevant management, education, or area of clinical specialty, preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years pediatric nursing experience
• Previous management, leadership, and education experience preferred
