Job summary

AmTrust Financial Services is seeking a Clinical Review Pharmacist for our Overland Park, KS area. The role focuses on reviewing medical necessity of medications for workers’ compensation cases, coordinating with claims teams, and ensuring timely prior authorizations.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in clinical pharmacy, a PharmD or B.S., strong documentation, and excellent communication skills. Salary range shown and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in pharmacy clinical care.
• Pharmacy B.S or Pharm D.
• Strong documentation and presentation/communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review prescription prior authorizations in a timely manner.
• Handle supporting clerical tasks for pharmacy authorizations/reviews.
• Document medication determinations based on guidelines and formulary rules.
• Record judgement on medication determinations across platforms.
• Recommend alternative medications, dosing, or discontinuation when appropriate.
• Review therapy plans with case nurses as needed.
• Escalate cases for multi-disciplinary reviews.
• Engage providers by phone for peer-to-peer interventions.
• Participate in clinical quality audits for inter-rater reliability.
