Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a Respiratory Educator to educate interns, deliver clinical teaching, and ensure competency before patient care. You will plan, develop, schedule, and perform continuing education and staff competencies.

You will review and revise training materials, stay current with standards and regulations, promote NBRC credential maintenance, and collaborate with staff to uphold safe respiratory care and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science is required.
• NBRC credential must be maintained as a condition of continued role eligibility.
• California/Florida state requirements may apply depending on unit location.

Responsibilities

• Educate interns using various instructional methods and ensure their competency before patient care.

Job Description

Shift: Monday-Friday, some early mornings, some evenings depending on the needs of the department

• Offers educational support for Respiratory preceptors per facility needs.

• Reviews and revises training materials regularly. Stays current with standards, policies, SOPs, technology, and research.

• Contributes to the development and/or modification of clinical standards, policies, SOPs.

• Evaluates and introduces new Respiratory Care equipment and technologies.

• Implements iCARE principles and represents the department professionally.

• Communicates and implements steps to meet regulatory agency requirements.

• Assists in maintaining high-quality performance in department activities.

• Enforces department and hospital policies. Promotes quality patient care and ensures the delivery of safe Respiratory Care.

• Maintains good working relationships and open communication with staff, supervisors, students, and program instructors.

• Plans, develops, schedules, and performs continuing education and staff competencies.

• Educates interns using various instructional methods and ensures their competency before patient care.

• Monitors intern activities, facilitates critical thinking, and provides constructive feedback.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Experience

• Clinical teaching and formal presentation experience [Preferred]

• Experienced in delivering presentations and the use of Microsoft PowerPoint [Required]

Pay Range

$59,652.52 - $110,956.61
