Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Respiratory Care Intern to provide advanced respiratory care under supervision in its hospital settings, including ICU, acute care units, and the emergency room. You will work with a licensed Respiratory Therapist to safely perform procedures within demonstrated competency.

The role requires current enrollment in a Virginia Respiratory Care Program and a current AHA BLS certification, with responsibilities spanning assessment, planning and execution of respiratory

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care Program within the state of Virginia.
• Preference for hospital/medical background or experience.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, provide advanced respiratory care to patients across age groups.
• Utilize the respiratory care process to plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Perform procedures within demonstrated competency and under supervision.
• Assist with equipment preparation, cleaning and transport.
