Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida seeks an experienced clinical research leader to oversee delivery of safe care and supervise the research team. You will guide day-to-day operations, develop SOPs, and coordinate startup activities with operations and partners to ensure timely study progression.

You will mentor staff, manage staffing levels, and ensure quality and safety across the assigned area, contributing to a compliant, patient-centered research program.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in clinical research.
• 5+ years with increasing people management responsibilities.
• SOCRA Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) or ACRP Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of safe care with regard for the dignity and respect of all patients/participants.
• Supervise day-to-day activities of the clinical research team, including oversight of productivity and staffing schedules.
• Lead Talent Acquisition, team development, and performance management of research team members.
• Serve as a service line expert and resource for the research team, addressing barriers during day-to-day operations.
• Build and maintain supportive relationships with each team member through regular rounding and scheduled connections.
• Ensure teams maintain adequate inventory levels and maintain clinical supply areas.
• Collaborate with operations, study intake, research services, and external partners for startup and smooth transitions.
• Monitor and evaluate quality and safety of clinical operations in the area.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and ensure adherence to processes.
• Provide guidance, education, training, and mentorship to promote growth.

Job Description:

• Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensures clinical research operations teams follow established processes and procedures.
• Provides guidance, education, specialized training, and mentorship to promote growth for study team members.
• Delivers effective and compliant clinical research study coordination, including planning, organizing, and managing all activities related to clinical research protocols.
• Serves in a supportive role for the preceptorship of new team members, monitoring their progress and providing open communication to the Operational Manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Field of Study:

• in Healthcare Administration, Research, or related field

Work Experience:

• 2+ years of experience in clinical research [Required]
• 5+ clinical research experience with increasing people management responsibilities [Preferred]

Additional Information:

• An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the stated degree requirement.
• Bachelors Degree AND 2+ years of experience in clinical research OR
• Associates Degree AND 4+ years of experience in clinical research or related field.

Licenses and Certifications:
