Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking a program assistant in Charleston, SC to oversee recruitment and enrollment for obesity and tobacco-use trials. You will collect health data, manage records, and support regulatory and administrative tasks for behavioral and medication-based interventions.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma with four years of relevant program experience or a bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, biology, or health sciences with 1 year of research experience.
• Knowledge of computer-based information systems required.
• Ability to interpret laws and policies; strong time management and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and with teams.
• Experience with federally funded studies or pharmaceutical trials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage tracking of research participants, including recruitment, screening, and enrollment.
• Facilitate participant study visits and collect health research data; handle reimbursements.
• Document and manage data in electronic research records; data entry tasks.
• Maintain regulatory and training documents per IRB and GCP guidelines.
• Provide administrative support for grant proposals, audits, and dissemination of findings.
