Job summary

The Geneva Foundation seeks a part-time Pharmacy Technician to support investigational medication preparation and provide admin assistance to the research pharmacist and team at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. This role requires on-site work and adherence to protocol and regulatory expectations.

The incumbent will prepare sterile products, assist with study documentation, and ensure accurate dosing and labeling while maintaining confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) required.
• Non-profit, research, or healthcare experience desired.
• Familiar with pharmacy terminology and abbreviations.
• Knowledge of apothecary and metric weights and measures.
• Able to convert between metric systems.
• Knowledge of drug nomenclature and interactions.
• Sterile technique and infection control experience.
• Awareness of drug laws and policies.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, Access, and E-mail.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret instructions for investigational medications per protocol.
• Prepare sterile products using sterile technique and infection control.
• Assemble drugs and supplies for delivery or collection by clinical staff.
• Perform calculations and adjustments for different concentrations.
• Select correct unit dose per protocol.
• Respond to sponsor inquiries about study documents.
• Operate automated equipment for IV solutions.
• Maintain cleanliness in pharmacy spaces and confidentiality of participants.
• Assist PI and team with data entry, documentation, and procurement as needed.
