Job summary

AIMS Locum Tenens seeks skilled inpatient pharmacy technicians to join our team at Brooke Army Medical Center - BAMC at Fort Sam Houston, TX. You will support inpatient, outpatient, and oncology pharmacy operations, ensuring adherence to The Joint Commission standards and accurate order processing.

Rotational shifts apply to match department needs. Ideal candidates have ASHP-accredited training, recent inpatient/outpatient experience, PTCB/ExCPT/CHPhT certification, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of recent experience as an inpatient, outpatient, or oncology pharmacy technician.
• Graduation from an ASHP-accredited pharmacy technician program or equivalent, including military training.
• Certification by PTCB, ExCPT, or CHPhT is required.
• Current active BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile products and perform pharmaceutical calculations for various preparations.
• Adhere to sterile procedures and maintain equipment.
• Prepare and fill physician orders for IV solutions, parenteral and inpatient unit dose orders.
• Perform maintenance on equipment to ensure sterility of IV products.
• Participate in quality assurance data collection and review.

Job Overview:

AIMS is seeking skilled Inpatient-Pharmacy Technicians to join our team and provide high-quality pharmacy services at Brooke Army Medical Center - BAMC at Fort Sam Houston, TX. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in inpatient, outpatient, and oncology pharmacy settings, ensuring adherence to The Joint Commission (TJC) standards.

Schedule:

• Rotational Shifts as per department needs

Qualifications:

• Minimum one (1) year of experience within the last five (2) years as an inpatient, outpatient, or oncology pharmacy technician.
• Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a similar program, including military training programs.
• Certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT), or CHPhT.
• Current active certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American red Cross only
