Manage the day-to-day activity of the Surgery Clinical Research to ensure efficient clinical research operations and program grown spanning eleven divisions in the Department of Surgery. Provides leadership, financial planning and forecasting for the Department of Surgery, strategic planning and short/long term goals fostering collaborations among surgery investigators. Manages the life cycle of each clinical trial working directly with investigators, sponsors, other Universities, Clinical Research Center personnel, UNeHealth/ SPA , accounting and IRB personnel to ensure optimal outcomes. Strong leadership skills to motivate a team to perform at the top of their capabilities. Excellent project planning and organizational skills. Extensive communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate on the phone, in person, with small and large groups of diverse backgrounds (professional and patient groups), including being an effective team member. Effective writing skills. Proficiency in analytic reasoning and strategic planning to formulate budgets and negotiate complex contracts. Ability to market services to customer groups within and outside of UNMC /Nebraska Medicine. Familiarity with research and medical terminology, grant writing and governmental rules and regulations.
Public Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, Healthcare Administration or related field.
